Oklahoma 6A Cross Country Final Rankings 2016: Bartlesville's Double

The October 10th, 2016 6A polls had Bartlesville on top of both sides, and for once the double prediction doubled down correctly. Bartlesville’s girls and boys both converted poll No. 1 into state titles — the cleanest sweep in the 2016 archive. The pollsters don’t get many of these; they earned this one.

Girls’ poll, October 10th: Bartlesville, Owasso, Edmond North, Westmoore, Norman. State: Bartlesville 57, Norman 108. The champion was the poll’s No. 1; the runner-up was the poll’s No. 5 — Norman crashed a podium the ballot hadn’t reserved.

Boys’ poll, October 10th: Bartlesville, Edmond Memorial, Owasso, Jenks, Norman. State: Bartlesville 55, Owasso 93. The champion was the poll’s No. 1; the runner-up was the poll’s No. 3. A 38-point margin — the poll predicted the winner, not the landslide.

Sand Springs’ Cheyenne Walden won the girls’ individual title — her FOURTH straight 6A crown (2013–2016); Jenks’ Matt Young won the boys’ title.

Bartlesville swept 6A, and the poll saw both halves coming — while Cheyenne Walden won her fourth straight individual crown, because of course she did.
