Oklahoma 3A Cross Country Final Rankings 2019: Marietta's Girls and Kiefer's Boys

The 2019 3A polls behaved themselves — both champions were the favorites, and both delivered.
The 2019 3A polls behaved themselves — both champions were the favorites, and both delivered.

The 2019 3A final polls, posted October 19th, were about as controversial as a sunrise: Marietta’s girls on top, Kiefer’s boys on top. And for once, nobody at the state meet felt like arguing. Both favorites won. The pollsters celebrated. The rest of 3A went home and trained harder.

Girls’ poll, October 19th: Marietta, Plainview, Kiefer, Dove Science (OKC), Sequoyah Tahlequah. State: Marietta 63, Plainview 80. The poll’s top two finished top two, in order — another October ballot that November decided to honor.

Boys’ poll, October 19th: Kiefer, O.C.S., Marietta, Chisholm, Marlow. State: Kiefer 63, O.C.S. 99. Same story: the 1-2 held, the margin was comfortable, and the poll kept its dignity intact.

The individual titles went to Jones’ Tabitha Fox on the girls’ side and Little Axe’s Agustin Lopez on the boys’ side.

2019 3A was the rare year the polls behaved — both champions were the favorites, and Marietta’s girls kept a decade-long dynasty rolling.
